FROM THE INTERIM RECTOR
The snow is falling again this morning; the predicted 1-3" looks to be at least 3", and the trees are covered again. Even though the temperatures are to rise, we will surely have a white Christmas. Having grown up in the South, this is exciting to me! I love the snow (though not the shoveling). I love the beauty of it as it falls, and the beauty left behind.  But my thoughts also turn to those who are not so fortunate as us - those who have no shelter, those who are hungry, those who are cold, and especially to the children in these circumstances. Christmas baskets are being readied in the Parish Hall, so many will have a good Christmas dinner. The Christmas Project provided wonderful bags of gifts for many families in our area. Yet the need always outstrips the supply, if not in Tamworth, then certainly beyond.
Hopefully we have all contributed in some way to programs that help those in need. And this is good.  It is our calling. But there is always one more thing we can do - all of us - and that is to pray. As Christmas approaches let our prayers be for those in need, in our local communities, in our country and in our world. And let our prayers be for peace, in our country and our world. This too is our calling ; peace, and good will to all people.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men!” Luke 2:13-14, KJV
May your Christmas be filled with God's peace and joy,
Caroline

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be.

With God as our father
Brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother
In perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me
Let this be the moment now.
With every step I take
Let this be my solemn vow.

To take each moment And live each moment
With peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth,
And let it begin with me.
Lyrics from song written by Jill Jackson Miller and Sy Miller, 1955
