FROM THE RECTOR

Good snowy morning,

What a beautiful snowfall! Unless, of course, you’re trying to go somewhere.
This week’s weather and the forecast for snow on Saturday night has prompted me to prepare for possible Sunday morning service cancellations. I’ve emailed those who normally come to the 8:00 service with a plan to email them if I cancel the 8:00 service. If you would like to be notified about 8:00 service cancellations and did not receive this email, please let me know and I’ll add you to the group. I’ll send this email by 7:00 am.
If the 10:00 service will be canceled I will make an announcement on WMUR, so if the weather is iffy, please check closings at https://www.wmur.com/weather/closings and search for St. Andrew’s. I’ll make this decision by 8:00 am.

My trip to Montreal last weekend to see the exhibit, “Imagine Van Gogh,” was every bit as fabulous as I thought it would be. His paintings were projected onto fourteen huge panels around a rectangular space paired with classical music selections (see pictures below). The paintings changed every few minutes and we were free to wander as we wished. Sometimes portions of a single painting appeared on several panels, sometimes all the panels had different paintings displayed. Sometimes the painting scrolled down the panel. It was a truly immersive experience, evoking chills, tears and wonder. The exhibit will be in Montreal until March 1, and I highly recommend it! WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

Please keep in mind during the winter when the weather looks questionable for safe travel to call the church before you leave home to check for schedule changes. If a storm comes in on Saturday evening or Sunday, I will make a judgment by 7:00 AM about whether to hold, cancel, or delay services. Cancellations will posted on WMUR9. PLEASE do not travel if it feels unsafe to you. Enjoy a Sabbath morning at home and remember St. Andrew’s in your prayers.

If only the 8:00 a.m. service is cancelled, an email will be sent out to the regular 8:00 attendees.

COMMUNITY FOOD CENTER
The Food Pantry thanks you for your contributions throughout the year.
The monthly item for January is shampoo/conditioner.

The Community Food Center (CFC), which operates out of St. Andrew’s Church on Old Route 25 in Tamworth, is looking for new volunteers to help with this important program.  The Center is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00 am to noon for clients to come in and pick up their food. On each of these days, two volunteers staff the Center and a CFC Board Member is on hand to help and answer questions. Scheduling is done bi-monthly and substitutes provide flexibility for volunteers who have other commitments.
