Only 5 days ‘til the Sandwich Fair!!! Preparations are now in very high gear. We are eager for jams and jellies, as well as baked goods. Carol Tubman will be providing information sheets on Sunday. Please see her if you can help with food preparations. A signup sheet for staffing the booth at the Fair October 5th through 8th is posted on the Parish Hall bulletin board. We're also looking for a few people who would be willing to make reminder calls. This is our most significant parish fundraiser. We're counting on your participation. Please contact Gretchen Behr-Svendsen if you have questions.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!  We will be hosting the Lakes Region Convocation meeting here on Tuesday. The meeting begins with a gathering time from 6:30, for which the host parish provides the refreshments. We only have the responsibility every other year, and we really do need a dozen people to provide something. (Could be sandwich quarters, cookies, chips and dip, crackers and cheese.) Please bring them to the church by 6:30 on Tuesday. Then feel free stay to socialize and hear about the resolutions that are coming before our Diocesan Convention. There's a signup list on the stand in the Parish Hall. Thanks.

The children of Judy & Larry Grace invite you to celebrate their parents’ 50th anniversary taking place at their home, 239 Durrell Road, Tamworth, NH. They request no gifts, just your presence! Sunday, October 7 from 1 to 4. Stop in on your way to the fair!  If you have questions please contact Deborah Swisher 447-2812, Teresa Grace 323-7204 or Roy Grace 323-7365.

Celebrating and thanking Bishop Gene Robinson. There will be two receptions in Bishop Gene’s honor and you are warmly invited to either one; however, you will need to have at ticket. (This is the only way the committee could know in advance how many guests to expect.) Sign-up lists are in the Parish Hall.

*All Saints’ Church, Littleton: Saturday, November 3 from 2 to 4

*Grapone Center, Concord: Saturday, November 10 from 1 to 4

Those experiences in life where we witness a greatness – something in someone else or in ourselves that is clearly beyond one’s own making – or when we face those experiences in life where we feel so small and our need is so great, I think these experiences in life put us in our place: creature in the presence of the Creator.

See you in church!
Blessings, Heidi+

A very productive week on the entrance to the Parish Hall has yielded a useable entry beginning this Friday.  Temporary handrails have been placed to ensure that no one falls off the edges. Many thanks to all who have helped make this happen and Duane for orchestrating the process as well as his many hours of hands on labor.  More pictures of the process are at the bottom of the memo.
More ramp work photos below (after the calendar)

Yet to come on the parish hall entry project:
* Proper handrails. (The 2x4's installed yesterday are only temporary!)
* Some new asphalt at the bottom, for a smooth transition from concrete to parking lot
* A new door which opens the other way (outward, but with hinges on the left, handle on the right)
* The drainage pipes from the perimeter of the Memorial Garden will be extended (to the south) and buried.
* Re-grading; grass and flowers restored.

Saint Andrew’s to host Lakes Region Convocation meeting on Tuesday, October 2, at 7 PM.  This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the wider church without having to drive very far! The agenda for the meeting will be the resolutions before our Diocesan Convention later this fall. Look for the resolutions to be posted on the Parish bulletin board. Folks arrive for the meeting beginning at 6:30 for an informal social time for which we are responsible for the food  – savory or sweet finger food. If you’d like to help with food, please contact Dale Appleton at 539-6737.

“Tuesday Group,” our Children’s Formation activity group is underway, meeting on two Tuesday late afternoons each month and one Sunday morning. This week we welcomed Tim, Ted, and Jim, along with their mom. We're meeting again on Tuesday, September 25th.

Harvest Party 2011!
Reminder of the Harvest and Potluck Lunch at Gretchen’s home– 106 Tamworth Rd– on Saturday, Sept 8th beginning at 9:30 am. If you have old towels or cloths for drying off goards-please bring them.  All are welcome!  Come to harvest, wash gourds and pumpkins or even just socialize.  Lots of fun was had last year.  Pray for good weather.  We will schedule an alternate date if it’s raining. Call 323-7459 for more information.
See Gretchen to sign up to help and cook for the FAIR BOOTH!

The reconstruction of our ramp entrance is still under way!!!  The entry is presently inaccessible. Instead, you will need to walk across the lawn behind the Parish Hall and enter through the east door which will be kept open when events, including office hours, are taking place. If walking is difficult for you, a vehicle may drive in at the east end of the building, passing the Prince Room chimney, giving you easy access to the door. Under no circumstances is anyone to drive around the rear of the Parish Hall, which would entail going over our septic tank which might not support the weight of a vehicle!!! If you have a key to the building and are here at off hours, you will need to use the main front door of the church.
Special thanks to Bill Lord, one of Barbara's sons, who has put in quite a number of hours digging the drainage ditches that are art of the ramp project. Many continuing thanks to Duane for his work on decision-making, carpentry, and other jobs associated with the ramp. Next step will be a return visit from John Roberts to help with final digging, drainage pipes, and crushed stone. Paving comes next!
