The reconstruction of our ramp entrance is now
under way!!! The entry is presently
inaccessible. Instead, you will need to walk across the lawn behind the Parish
Hall and enter through the east door which will be kept open when events,
including office hours, are taking place. If walking is difficult for you, a vehicle
may drive in at the east end of the building, passing the Prince Room chimney,
giving you easy access to the door. Under
no circumstances is anyone to drive around the rear of the Parish Hall, which
would entail going over our septic tank which might not support the weight of a
vehicle!!! If you have a key to the building and are here at off hours, you
will need to use the main front door of the church.
Tomorrow, Friday,
August 10th is our Backyard Barbecue Bluegrass Bash! We’ll fire up the charcoal pit for a chicken
barbecue with fresh corn, potato salad, coleslaw, and our (now famous)
blueberry buckle for dessert, all with fabulous, live, musical entertainment by
the Bluegrass Mountain Boys! Invite your friends. Call to reserve your tickets
now!! 50% of our proceeds will go to local and regional outreach and 50% to the
church. Carol Tubman and Chris Mills are co-chairing the event. For tickets,
please call Nancy Whitaker @ 323-2385 or buy them at The Other Store in
Tamworth village.
Parish Gatherings
coming up: The Vestry invites you to
participate in one of five comparable gatherings to be held at homes of
parishioners. It’s been along time since we’ve gathered groups of 10 to 12 together
to talk about the life of our parish – our strengths, our challenges, and our
hopes and dreams. Each gathering will be facilitated by two parish leaders;
refreshments will be served. Please sign up at the table in the Parish Hall.
Tues., Aug 14th, 6:30pm-8:00pmThurs. Aug 16th, 3:30pm-5:00pm
Next Sunday is CROP Walk Sunday. Please visit the table in the Parish Hall to sign up to
walk or sponsor or contact Lisa Thompson.
