JOIN US FOR WORSHIP
-
THIS SUNDAY, November 26th the Last Sunday after
Pentecost, there will be two
services at 8:00 am and 10:00 am.
There is a service of Morning Prayer on Wednesday mornings at 9 a.m.
Wednesday Evening Services
In December we will
have a Blue Christmas service on
Wednesday, December 13, at 5:30 pm. This service is open to everyone, but
is particularly for those who struggle with the holiday season due to some sort
of loss: death of a spouse, a child, a sibling, a close friend; loss of a job
or a house; a loved one who suffers from addiction; or any loss that is
difficult, and makes it hard to be merry. It is a service of remembrance and at
the same time, a time to lift up our blessings even as we grieve a loss.
ComiMark your calendar
for Wednesday, January 10 at 5:30 pm when
we will have an evening prayer service drawing on the Celtic tradition. More on that to come.
We hope you will join us for worship and
fellowship.

- FROM THE INTERIM RECTOR -
Thank you to all who attended Friday night's Harvest Dinner and
Pie Auction, all who donated pies and all who bought them!! It was such a
wonderful evening, full of fun, laughter, good food and friendly bidding -
which from time to time was also competitive!
The dinner itself was
delicious. Carol Tubman outdid herself once again with a choice of beef stew or
butternut squash soup for the entree and a scrumptious bread pudding for
dessert.
CHECK OUT THE PHOTO GALLERY AT THE END OF THE MEMO. |
Chris Mills, George and
Patti Rau and David Manley kept all the pies matched up with successful bidders
and what they bid, and Chris Boldt (with his sidekick Preston) entertained us
once again with his humor and auctioneering skills. Ann Albrecht, Gretchen
Behr-Svendsen and Bev Hammond did their magic cleaning up the kitchen.
So many thanks to you
all for your time and hard work in making the evening such a success! We raised
$2000!
The Ordination of Betsy Hess to the transitional Deaconate will take place on
Saturday, December 16th at 11a.m. at St. Paul’s Church, Concord.
Please keep her in your prayers.

SEARCH COMMITTEE -
The Parish Profile is completed!
Click on “Parish Profile” button to read!
With joy at the completion of the Parish Profile, the Search Committee now begins a new phase of its work: the receiving and
reading of applications from our prospective candidates. The applications,
vetted by the Bishop and The Rev. Canon Hannah Anderson, will be sent to us
from Diocesan House in Concord. After this, we will conduct Skype interviews
with each of the candidates. We think, with time given to prayerful reflection,
that this phase will occupy us through November. If so, we will start scheduling
visits to parishes in Advent.
We continue to be encouraged by your prayers: keep
them coming!

Everliving and everloving Lord,
as we are in the midst of our challenging task to search for our new rector, we
pray that you continue to lead our parish to be in one mind and spirit through
the conclusion of this journey. May we be strong in the assurance that
you are guiding us and carrying us safely to calling the person you have chosen
to be our rector. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Collect for Thanksgiving Day
Almighty and gracious Father, we give you thanks
for the fruits of the earth in their season and for the labors of those who
harvest them. Make us, we pray, faithful stewards of your great bounty, for the
provision of our necessities and the relief of all who are in need, to the
glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with
you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
