On Saturday at 5:00 p.m. St. Andrew’s will host a concert of chamber music, A Feast for the Soul. Proceeds will go to the SNAP/EBT Doubling Program of the Tamworth Farmer’s Market. Ellen Swindt, one of the performers, wrote the following about the concert. I hope you will join us and enjoy the music, as well as supporting this worthy cause.
Hello Music Friends,
There is little in this life that motivates me quite as much as gardening. I find these summer days, in all their length, too short to fit in quite all the planting and tending and harvesting I want to do. I've gardened my whole life, beginning in this backyard haven: my mother's garden. 
My own garden is less flat and a lot less neat and organized. But it does contain green beans, onions, and a little corn. It has been providing me with my breakfast greens since early June and usually has something to offer for dinner as well. I appreciate the access I have to very fresh vegetables. It would be great if everyone had access to delicious and healthy food. 
That's the idea behind a trio concert planned for Saturday, July 20th at 5:00 PM at St. Andrews in the Valley in Tamworth. Amy Berrier, Chris Nourse, and I have been rehearsing music to share with the community. We'll play Dvorak's Terzetto for two violins and viola, a Handel Sonata for violin and two violas, a Beethoven violin and piano sonata and my own "miniature sonatina" for viola and piano. The concert is free, but listeners may make a donation to the Tamworth Farmers' Market's SNAP/EBT Doubling program.

This is a fun circus production of children actors.

Deb is selling tickets in the office during office hours
and is able to accept credit card payments for ticket purchases 
on behalf of All Saints Church.

I have been the Carroll County local Board Chair for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program for over 5 years now.  This program provides Federal funds to Carroll County Food assistance programs, shelters and other allowable entities that apply for this assistance.  There are currently approximately 8 food assistance programs applying for these funds during a phase period located from Wakefield to Wolfeboro to Conway.

 I have recently been tasked with a family member illness that has required me to travel back and forth to Maine and is taking a good part of my time. I am unable to continue this Volunteer position and am hoping that someone will be ambitious enough to take it on. It does require computer skills as they have many online forms.  I would hate to see these funds go unused but if someone doesn't step up in the next 30 days, that is what is going to happen as I have to step down. I am willing to guide this next person thru the process but the next phase is now ready with $11,000.00 in funds to be distributed and the process is time sensitive.

FORWARD DAY BY DAY
THURSDAY, July 18
Mark 2:27-28 Then he said to them, “The sabbath was made for humankind, and not humankind for the sabbath; so the Son of Man is lord even of the sabbath.”
We follow the rules to the letter so we can wear the badge of God’s approval. Sometimes, I worry we follow rules so we can mentally and spiritually check out of hard conversations with God. If we observe the sabbath as appointed and follow all the written instructions, we’ve checked all the boxes. This is an understandable struggle. We’re just trying our best to bring order out of the messiness of being human.
Jesus permits his hungry disciples to pluck ears of corn on the sabbath but the Pharisees forget God’s mercy. God does not want us to follow rules so stringently that we hurt our bodies. God creates the sabbath so we can take care of our bodies and commune with God in beautiful union—a holy timeout from the relentless march of time.

MOVING FORWARD: Do you struggle with striking a balance between following rules and extending mercy?
