FROM THE INTERIM RECTOR
Search Committee Members Wanted!
During our Ingathering Brunch last week I went over some of the characteristics needed for Search Committee members, and the various roles and responsibilities involved. Two documents are attached: Characteristics and Roles and an application for those who would like to serve as a Search Committee member. They are also available at St. Andrew's for anyone who would like to pick up a paper copy.

The Vestry asks that you read these documents and prayerfully consider whether you might be called to this ministry. There is a lot involved. Aside from what's listed in the document, this is a commitment that will involve weekly meetings over a period of 6-18 months. It is impossible to know exactly how long the process will last. During parts of the process meetings may not need to be as frequent, but other parts of the process may be more intense, particularly during candidate interviews.

The first part of the process is to create a parish profile, which will be posted online rather than in the form of a brochure or booklet. The Search Committee will receive input from parishioners for this, both about all of our ministries at St. Andrew's and what you hope for in a new Rector.

After the profile is completed the Search Committee will receive applications for candidates and begin the interview process. Current technology allows the initial interviews to be conducted via Skype or FaceTime, and then Search Committee members will visit chosen candidates in their home parishes. The Search Committee will narrow the choices to 2-4 final candidates who will come to St. Andrew's to visit the church, the surrounding area and to interview with the Vestry. The Vestry will then select the new Rector from the finalists.

Search Committee members need to have at least basic computer skills and regular access to email, as much of the communication among committee members and sharing of candidate information will be done via email.

If you are interested in serving on the Search Committee, please fill out the attached application and return it to the office no later than December 1. The Vestry will then select 6-12 parishioners to serve. Committee members will be named following the December Vestry meeting, and the Search Committee's work will begin in January.
If you have any questions please contact Caroline at InterimSAITV@gmail.com or at the office.
