FROM THE INTERIM RECTOR
Would you like
to be an Acolyte?
Acolyte
training will be held on Sunday, January 29, following the 10:00 service. We’ll
have something to eat too. It’s not too late to join in! If you or your child
would like to be an acolyte please contact Caroline at InterimSAITV@gmail.com or 323-8515.
It’s a great way to learn about liturgy, and to serve God and St. Andrew’s.
Wondering if you’re an “Official Voting Member” of
St. Andrew’s?
(The Annual Meeting is February 5)
Most of you
are. But if you’re new to the parish and haven’t asked your previous parish to
transfer your membership, you may not be. Many denominations keep careful
membership records, and when someone leaves the congregation, the church is
required to retain that person on their records, marked as “inactive,” until
they have officially transferred elsewhere. It is a courtesy to your former
church to make an official transfer. In the Episcopal Church and many
denominations you are a member of the church in which you were baptized until
you officially transfer your membership.
If you are
unsure whether you were ever officially registered, you can simply call that’s
church’s office and inquire. The church where you were baptized or confirmed
should have your records as well.
What’s
required to be a voting member at St. Andrew’s? You must be at least 16 years
old, have your official letter at St. Andrew’s (see above) and be a communicant
in good standing (you have been faithful in attending corporate worship and in
praying, working, and giving for the spread of the Kingdom of God).
But
regardless, we are delighted that you are here at Andrew’s and hope you’ll
“officially” join us as we journey in Christ.
If you would
like to transfer your membership to St. Andrew’s, please contact either me or
the office. (There’s a form for that!) If you are not sure please check the membership list on the Parish Hall bulletin board.
As our
Presiding Bishop is fond of saying, keep the faith!

Winter
Weather Advisory!!!
Please
keep in mind during the winter when the weather looks questionable for safe
travel to call the church before you leave home to check for schedule changes.
If a storm comes in on Saturday evening or Sunday, I will make a judgment by
7:00 AM about whether to hold, cancel, or delay services. Cancellations will
posted on WMUR9 and also be announced on WMWV radio 93.5. The church phone
message will also reflect any cancellations. PLEASE do not travel if it feels
unsafe to you. Enjoy a Sabbath morning at home and remember St. Andrew’s in
your prayers.
Blessings,
See you
in Church!
