FROM THE INTERIM RECTOR
Intercessory Prayer Group Forming
A part of the Morning Prayer service on Wednesday mornings is intercessory prayer. We pray for those who have asked our prayers, and those whom we know are struggling with illness, grief or any or any sort of need. Several of us who regularly attend Morning Prayer have been a part of more formal intercessory prayer groups, and want to begin that practice here. We will meet after Morning Prayer each week, and pray for those on our prayer list, as well as those who have asked for prayers. We will also pray more generally for many concerns, such as those suffering from addiction or mental illness, for law enforcement officers and fire fighters, prisoners, those in our armed services, our government leaders, and so forth.
Members of this fledgling intercessory prayer group are Ray Walker, Gretchen Behr-Svendsen, Cathie Lewis, Lisa Thompson, Joyce Carter and me. If you would like for us to pray for any specific need or concern please let me know. All prayer requests will be held in strict confidence.
Our first meeting will be next Wednesday, April 5.
Holy Week Services Lay Ministers Sign-up
Sign up sheets for lay ministers for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil will be in the Parish Hall on Sunday. Please sign up on Sunday, or email Caroline at InterimSAITV@gmail.com if you can participate.

Faithfully, Caroline

DINNER BELL
Volunteers are needed for April 23rd and all Sundays for month of MAY. Please consider enlisting some friends to team up and help with this important outreach ministry. Please contact Carol Tubman or email the office with your availability.

EASTER ALTAR FLOWERS
Easter Flower dedication slips will be provided in the bulletins and also by the flower chart in the Parish Hall.  Please consider a contribution and dedication to help with this cost.  The dedications need to be in to the office by April 10th.  Please send an email to office in advance of payment if you need to get your dedication in on time.

SEARCH COMMITTEE
We are very close to having the Parish Survey ready. We will be seeking your opinions on the importance and quality of various parish ministries, as well as roles and traits you find valuable in a rector. We will be sending the survey out electronically. If you would like help in filling out and returning your completed Survey, please ask any computer-savvy parishioner. Or contact a member of the Search Committee. We would be happy to help.
On Sundays, all will be invited to write an anonymous response to a different Weekly Question to be posted on a tri-fold in the parish hall.  THIS WEEK’S QUESTION: What ONE question would you like to ask of a candidate applying to be our rector? (Paper will be provided on Sunday, after the service.)
After the 9AM service on April 2, we will meet informally with the young people of the parish to invite and listen to their own wants, needs, desires for coming to Saint Andrew’s.
Prayer for St. Andrew’s during this phase of the search process.
Loving God, giver of all good gifts, grant to the Search Committee, and to the parish, wisdom and faith.  Be with us as we develop and create the Parish Profile. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

George Rau, Lisa Thompson, Cathie Lewis, Tom Huckman, Betsy Hess and Pat Adams.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Death is Only a Horizon
We seem to give them back to you, dear God, who gave them to us.  Yet, as you did not lose them in giving, so we have not lost them by their return.  Not as the world gives do you give, O Lover of souls! What you gave, you take away.  For what is yours is ours always, if we are yours.  And life is eternal; and love is immortal; and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.
Lift us up, O God, that we may see further; cleanse our eyes that we may see more clearly; draw us closer to you, that we may know ourselves nearer to our beloved who are with you.  And as you prepare a place for us, prepare us also for that happy place, that, where they are and you are, we too may be, forever more.  Amen.

FROM Deb in THE OFFICE
I will be out of the office Tuesday and Wednesday of next week but have two office angels coming in to cover phones. Thank you for your help Bernice and Cathie.

Giving Statements:
The first quarter giving statements will be sent out the week of April 10th.  If I have an email address on file, they will be sent via email, others will go via regular mail.
If I do not have your address on file but you would be willing to receive your statement electronically, please send it to me at the office.
Please advise of any corrections that need to be made to your statement. We are happy to be helping towards a “greener” future and reducing paper costs.

Birthdays & Anniversaries:
These will be posted in the Thursday Memo (at the end) for the month.  If you have not given this important information to the office and would like to be recognized, please send your details to me at office@standrewsinthevalley.org.

Bulletin Boards:
Unfortunately, I have not had the extra time (or anticipate any in the near future) to keep the bulletin boards up to date and looking sharp and creative.  I am STILL hoping for volunteers (maybe trading off for seasonal changes) who would like to show off their creativity and dressing up the boards.  If you are interested, please see Deb to discuss appropriations for materials and providing photos, etc.  This is not a huge, time consuming project but could be fun and maybe could include our younger folks to participate and help.

Holy Week Bulletin assembly:
I will be contacting names from the “time and talent” office list
to enlist help for this.

Thank you.
