FROM THE RECTOR
Thank you all for using Sign Up Genius to help me keep track of how many people plan to attend our in-person Sunday morning services, and for letting me know whether you’re ready to return to in person services. I’ve heard that 32 of you are ready to attend in person, several are not, and I’m still waiting to hear from ten households.

If you haven’t received emails from Sign Up Genius please let me know so I can add your name. Also note that if you are signing up two people you need to sign them up separately to ensure an accurate count.

There are still a few slots available for attending our service in person this Sunday

SUMMER MEMBERS: Please let me know when you will be back in town and I will send you a link to Sign Up Genius as well, so you can sign up to attend a Sunday morning service.

A NEW BOOK STUDY
will begin on Wednesday, June 16 at 12:30 – 1:30 pm. We will read Love is the Way, by Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. Meetings will be held on June 16 and 23, July 14 and 21, and August 4 and 11 (to work around my vacation dates.) The book is available to order from any book seller. It’s probably best to order soon in case of delivery delays.

Here is the blurb about the book from Amazon:

As the descendant of slaves and the son of a civil rights activist, Bishop Michael Curry's life illustrates massive changes in our times. Much of the world met Bishop Curry when he delivered his sermon on the redemptive power of love at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle. Here, he expands on his message of hope in an inspirational road map for living the way of love, illuminated with moving lessons from his own life. Through the prism of his faith, ancestry, and personal journey, Love Is the Way shows us how America came this far and, more importantly, how to go a whole lot further.

The way of love is essential for addressing the seemingly insurmountable challenges facing the world today: poverty, racism, selfishness, deep ideological divisions, competing claims to speak for God. This book will lead readers to discover the gifts they need in order to live the way of love: deep reservoirs of hope and resilience, simple wisdom, the discipline of nonviolence, and unshakable regard for human dignity.

Please let me know if you would like to participate in this book study.

Blessings on this beautiful day!
Caroline

READINGS FOR SUNDAY

Sunday, May 30th
1st Sunday after Pentecost, Year B

Collect of the Day

Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to worship the Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with the Son and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

First Lesson                                              Isaiah 6:1-8

This reading narrates Isaiah’s vision of the Lord surrounded by angels.  They sing”Holy, holy, holy,” a song the church sings a the beginning of the great thanksgiving.  This liturgical text invites the church and all creation to sing in praise of God’s glory.  That glory is God’s mercy toward sinners.

Psalm 29

Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

The Second Lesson                          Romans 8:12-17

In describing the new life of faith, Paul refers to all three persons of the Trinity. the Spirit leads us to recognize that we are children of God the Father and sisters and brothers with Christ the Son.

The Gospel                                                John 3:1-17

Jesus’ miracles prompt Nicodemus to visit him in secrecy, Jesus tells him about being born of the Spirit and about the Son who has been sent by God to save.

EFM
Think Spring! Planting a seed!

EFM, or Education for Ministry, currently has a combined New Hampshire/New York group that meets online weekly. This group was started by Rev. Bill Cruse, and was initially a New Hampshire group, but due to graduation, the group became too small for sharing and discussion, thus combining with the New York group this year.  It has been a wonderful process, learning and sharing with new friends from an area totally different from rural NH.  We would love to keep this group viable looking forward to next Fall.

If you like meeting new people, sharing your story and your faith with others, lively discussion about scripture and other authors, praying together, all from the comfort of your living room, EFM may be for you! If you need more information, Jen, Carol, Sammie, or Pat would be happy to answer any questions.

GARDEN ANGELS NEEDED!!!

The Memorial garden and the gardens behind the parish hall, are in need of some TLC.  Starting on Sunday, June 6th, and during that week following, we are looking for volunteers to help weed, cut back, and do whatever needs to be done to make our grounds beautiful for the summer months. You don’t have to do a whole garden, just do a section. Call a friend/parishioner to come with you, more hands, less work, and it is always more fun to chat while working. I plan to start on Sunday the 6th, late morning. If you are able to help, please email padams419@yahoo.com, so we know who is available and when.  Bring your gloves and tools!!!!!  Thank you!!!
