Thursday Memo 7/7/22

FROM THE RECTOR

The CDC continues to classify Carroll County in the low range for community spread of Covid This will be updated as needed, but for now masks are optional in church.

Audrey Berry, a long time member of St. Andrew's, will be buried on Saturday, July 9 at 11:00 am at Riverside Cemetery.  A reception will follow at St. Andrew's. All are welcome to attend.

My vacation was scheduled to end on Saturday, July 9, and I planned to preside at Audrey Berry's service on Saturday and at both services of the Eucharist on Sunday. But alas, I tested positive for Covid on Wednesday of this week and therefore, according to CDC guidelines, I need to isolate through Monday, July 11. After the five day period of isolation I will wear a KN95 mask for five more days, but will keep my face to face meetings to a minimum.

Ann Cady will officiate at Audrey's service on Saturday and we will have Morning Prayer at 8:00 and 10:00 on Sunday, led by our lay worship leaders. Patti Rau, our St. Warden, remains available in an emergency. I will begin responding to my email on Sunday, July 10.

It's not exactly how I planned to end my vacation, but so it goes. I have mild symptoms, thanks be to God!

Blessings, Caroline

PRAYER FOR UKRAINE

"God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today. We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Amen.

~Archbishop Justin Welby, Archbishop Stephen Cottrell

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

When all is darkness

and we feel our weakness and helplessness,

give us the sense of your presence, O God,

your Love and your strength.

Help us to trust your time, your mysteries,

your strengthening power,

so that nothing may frighten or worry us.

Living close to your wisdom

and by means of your light,

we shall see your way,

your purpose and your will

through all things.
