Don’t miss more pictures below!

The Blessing of the Animals will be this Sunday, the 14th of October, the Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost. Plan on bringing your pet(s) to church for either the 8 AM or 10 AM service.  Please have dogs on a leash and other creatures in a cage. We will reserve the transept as an “animal free zone.”  We hope you'll join us for worship and fellowship. Join us for coffee hour following the service. (Dog snacks will be provided, thanks to Val May.)

Readings for this Sunday: Job 23:1-9, 16-17; Psalm 22:1-15; Hebrews 4:12-16; Mark 10:17-31.

Morning Prayer every Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Pick up your UTO boxes in the Parish Hall and drop a coin in daily. UTO boxes and/or check donations must be turned in by Sunday, October 21st. Please make checks payable to St. Andrew’s with UTO in the memo line.

This year the children of the parish will be helping with the ChIPs program (Children of Incarcerated Parents) by encouraging you to contribute and by being the purchasers of the gifts! If you would like to make a contribution, please make checks payable to Saint Andrew’s with ChIPs in the memo line by October 21st.

Celebrating and thanking Bishop Gene Robinson. The ticket reservation deadline has been extended. Please let Rev. Heidi know by Sunday if you plan to attend.

To contribute to the fund for an endowed Chaplaincy at the Women’s Prison, a project that he has requested in lieu of a retirement gift, and to view the video go to http://www.nhepiscopal.org and click on the “Bishop’s Retirement” column.

Would you like to order a DVD of the Consecration? The cost is $10. The ordering deadline is October 21. Talk to Rev. Heidi for details.

Plan ahead for Parish Fall Work Day! Next Sunday, October 21, will be our Fall Work Day. There will be a task list posted. Strong, able-bodied workers: Please bring your lawn rakes and work gloves. Among other chores, we need to rake up our leaves.

A message from our Community Food Pantry: The need is up (and growing as the temperature outside drops), but both cash and food donations are down. Let’s reinstitute the practice bringing something for the Food Pantry Basket every Sunday. If each of us did that every week, that would be about 50 items each Sunday. It would make a HUGE difference to our neighbors who are in need.

Facilities update; Refinishing of the front doors is underway.  From the distance the doors look pretty handsome but a closer look shows why they urgently needed attention.  The refinishers took the doors offsite to work on them so there is a temporary door in place to keep the front entrance usable.

Many thanks to the many hands who helped in another successful year at Sandwich Fair.

Food for thought from Brother Curtis Almquist  SSJE

Conversion is about our ongoing invitation from God to change, to grow into maturity in this life, “to the measure of the full stature of Christ,” who himself changed, his own heart of love broken wide for the whole world.

See you in church!

Blessings, Heidi+
