FROM THE INTERIM RECTOR
I
have a new email address: InterimSAITV@gmail.com.
If
you were using my personal email, please delete that, as emails sent to that
address may get lost in the shuffle. If you inadvertently use my old address
and do not hear from me, please try again using this address.
Free
Books!
In the process of settling in to my office here, I needed to clear out some
books to make room for my own. Please take a look at the books on the window
sill in the parish hall, and help yourself to anything that interests you.
And
speaking of clearing out.... Moving as often as I do has helped
me learn the value of "cleaning house". And by that I don't mean
household chores, but getting rid of "stuff" - I have way too much!
In each move I clear out a little more, and in this last move I focused on
books (again). Books are perhaps the hardest thing for me to part with, but if
it's 20 years old, I haven't looked at it in the past 10 years, and I don't
think it's something I will loan to anyone, it's probably time to let go of it.
So
I've been in that mode lately, and it has transferred to the Rector's office
here. I don't say that to discourage you from taking home a book or several(!),
but to share what is a sort of spiritual practice for me. This "cleaning
house" seems to have an interior impact - an interior cleansing if you
will - that is freeing. Do you have any "stuff" that you no longer
need or use? Might someone else benefit from it? If so, consider passing it
along.

When
a local thrift shop (not the Etc.
Shoppe) closed, Trinity Church, Meredith responded. Together with the
Congregational and Roman Catholic churches, Trinity opened a new Thrift Shop in
the village. They signed the lease and are now visible in the community with an
ecumenical, all-volunteer staff.
All
Saints’ Wolfeboro has successfully installed solar panels on both east and
south roofs.
At
Saint John the Baptist, Sanbornville, proceeds ($2,800) from ARFF (Animals
Raising Funds for Food) will provide 7,567 meals to children.
Lakes
Region Convocation delegates meet to share and learn from our successes and
challenges. But we are primarily the connection between our parishes and the basic
unit of the Episcopal Church, the diocese. As delegates to Lakes Region
Convocation and to the Diocesan Convention on November 5, our responsibility is
both to understand the Diocesan Budget and Resolutions and to bring our diverse
congregations on board with what is happening to bring The Jesus Movement into and then out from our congregations into the communities around us.
Delegates from Saint Andrew’s to Lakes
Region Convocation and Diocesan Convention are: Cathie Lewis, Carol Tubman,
Marty Cloran (Gretchen Behr-Svendsen, and Lisa Thompson, Alternates).
COMMUNITY FOOD CENTER
Food Pantry item for September is Laundry Detergent. Thank you for
your contributions of these items.
Blessings,
See you in Church!
