FROM THE INTERIM RECTOR
-
I will be away
this weekend, visiting my sister in Westminster, MD. She has two daughters,
Grace, who is 17, and Caroline, who is 13. Caroline is a dancer - she started
when she was 5 or 6, and for the last few years has been dancing every day
after school. Her end of year dance recital is this weekend, which is the
reason for my visit. The last time I saw her dance was 4 or 5 years ago, so I
know I will see a whole different dancer! Can't wait! Here she is showing off
her moves.
Caroline |
Florence adopted both her girls from China, and
took me with her on both trips (I was in charge of pictures and videos, among
other things). As a result I have an especially close relationship with both
girls, and see them as often as I can. Last time we were together was in Mexico
for Thanksgiving, so I’m overdue a visit.
Grace |
I am away Thursday – Sunday. In the event of a
pastoral emergency, please contact our Senior Warden, Carol Tubman, at
603-651-8230.
Comings
and Goings
Please
welcome the Rev. Dan Weir, who will lead our services on
Sunday. He is a retired priest from Intervale, who regularly assists at Christ
Church, North Conway. Please thank Tom
Ayling for filling in as our organist while Bunny was recovering from
shoulder surgery. Sunday will be his last Sunday with us (at least for now).
And, please join me in welcoming back
the Rev. Deacon Kevin Mort, who returns to us on Sunday.
Join us Sunday, June 25th at 10:30 for our Annual All-Parish Liturgy and Picnic at White Lake State Park. The liturgy will begin AT 10:30, followed by the picnic. The 8 am Service of Holy Eucharist will still take place at the Church. Our event will be held rain or shine since the pavilion is under cover. This has proved to be a fun community event, so feel free to invite friends and family members who might not regularly join you for church. You are free to stay and enjoy the park until park closing time.

When
you come through the “check-in gate” just tell them you are there for Saint
Andrew’s Picnic, then proceed to the pavilion. Set-up will be taking place from
9:00 on, so feel free to come early to drop off your food and get settled. The
site is wheelchair accessible, including the bathrooms. Burgers, hotdogs, buns,
and beverages will be provided, but you are invited to bring something for the food table: chips, salads, or
dessert. The swimming at White Lake is excellent and good for children as well
as adults; the water warms up early. Bring your kayak if you want to enjoy the
whole late.
The
official amount that the church will pay for pavilion use is $5 per person, BUT
WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR THE EVENT. If you want to come, come! If you would like to
help subsidize the cost to the church, we welcome your contribution, large or
small. (Checks can be made out to St. Andrew’s with a memo: for parish picnic.)
What to bring:
A food table contribution of chips, salad, or dessert, Informal clothing suitable to the weather, including an extra layer in case it gets chilly.

SEARCH COMMITTEE
-
A Request from the Search Committee
As we continue with our fact gathering for our
parish profile, we have mentioned at our Sunday services that we would be
having small informal group discussions so that parishioners could continue to
discuss our parish, and our search for a new rector. This coming Sunday, in the
parish hall, there will be a sign up sheet with the names and addresses of
parishioners who have agreed to host these discussions. Please sign up under
the place, date, and time that is most convenient for you.
Your
thoughts and opinions are very important in our search process, so we would
like as many of you as possible to attend one of these sessions
If you
have any questions, please contact any search committee member.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
-
Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.
I bind unto myself the Name,
The strong Name of the Trinity;
By invocation of the same.
The Three in One, and One in Three,
Of Whom all nature hath creation,
Eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
Praise to the Lord of my salvation,
Salvation is of Christ the Lord.
The strong Name of the Trinity;
By invocation of the same.
The Three in One, and One in Three,
Of Whom all nature hath creation,
Eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
Praise to the Lord of my salvation,
