Surf and Turf Dinner was a wonderful success. No rain! No wind! No bugs! Delicious food and dozens of contented guest! $300+ will go to each of the three local organizations we are supporting: Tamworth Caregivers, Tamworth Nurses, and the Bearcamp Valley School. Abundant thanks to Sally and Vic DeGroot and their "team," along with our hardworking FUN-Raising Committee and all who contributed blueberry cobbler!

Thursday MEMO
for July 30, 2010

Sunday, August 1st we will have ONE service only at 9:00, followed by Coffee Hour Open House at the Rectory in Madison. Bring something for the table if it's convenient -- but it's not required! We'll provide coffee, punch, and relaxed sociability. Direction are below.

The Annual CROP Walk for Hunger will be on Sunday, August 15 at 1 PM in Sandwich. This project raises funds to address hunger locally, nationally, and internationally. Each year members of the parish participate by raising money through sponsors and committing to this five mile walk with others in the area. A portion of the funds raised helps support our Food Pantry and Dinner Bell programs. Will you walk? Will you help sponsor a walker? Information is available in the Parish Hall following the service.

Readings for Sunday:
Hosea 11:1-11, Psalm 107:1-9,43, Colossians 3:1-11, Luke 12:13-21

Food for thought from Frederick Buechner ...

"Unbelief is as much of a choice as belief is. What makes it in so many ways more appealing is that whereas to believe requires some measure of understanding and effort, not to believe doesn't require much of anything at all."
