FROM THE RECTOR
Dear St. Andrew's Family,
Alleluia!
Christ is risen! Happy Easter! It was a strange Easter, to be sure. I never
could have imagined that I would be live streaming the Holy Week and Easter
services from my dining room table. Or that my cat, Bo, would decide to join me
on Easter morning for the Gospel and my sermon! He was just a small
distraction. Nonetheless, the Lord is risen indeed! Alleluia!!
I
am most grateful to the many people who helped with the services of Holy Week
and Easter:
·
Lisa
and Gretchen, for assembling the Triduum bulletins
·
Gretchen,
for delivering bulletins in Conway, and for picking up the Easter lilies,
daffodils and tulips for the altar
·
Tom
and Tim Huckman, for delivering Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter bulletins,
and for lighting the new fire and Paschal candle
·
All
the readers – I think there were 14, not just for reading so beautifully, but
for attending rehearsals so we could work out technical procedures
·
Altar
Guild members, who changed the altar hangings throughout the week
·
All
of you who participated! It was great to see so many of you, and to enjoy
chatting at coffee hour. We’ll do it again on Sunday!
May God bless you,
Caroline

TIPS FOR AVOIDING THE FLU OR CORONAVIRUS
Wash your hands frequently.
Sanitize hands before and after contact with others.
It’s not too late to get your flu shot. While our primary concern is the spread of COVID-19, this is also a bad flu season. If people have not gotten a flu vaccine, there’s still time before the expected second wave of seasonal flu infections.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
In the Time of Pandemic
And the people stayed home.
And they read books, and listened, and rested, and
exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and
were still.
And they listened more deeply. Some meditated, some
prayed, some danced.
Some
met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed.
And, in the absence of people living in ignorant,
dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.
And when the danger passed, and the people joined
together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed
new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had
been healed.
